Task: Learn G-major & E-harmonic Scale & continue learning song
What I actually did: Continue practicing Born Under a Bad Sign with E-harmonic scale, and learn G-major scale
Born Under a Bad Sign scales:
3rd Position of the E Minor Pentatonic Scale
Then slide up to the 3rd Position of the A Minor Pentatonic Scale:
I noticed that while repeating the E-minor scale (A, B, D, G, E, D…) (A, B, D, G, E, D…) it sounds really good to end it on the A (A, B, D, G, E, A) before sliding up to the A-minor scale for a smooth transition and simple riff of Born Under a Bad Sign.
And then likewise, once you’re up in the A-minor scale, you’re playing (D, E, G, A, C, A…) it sounds really good to end it back on the D before sliding back down to the E-minor scale. This makes for a really beautiful loop, that you can you play over and over! It’s played here for reference, and it’s at 1:40 he begins to introduce Born Under a Bad Sign. I tried to learn the chords he was playing in between the riffs, but it was pretty tricky. So I just stuck with the simple riff.
Here’s the G-major scale I learned also 🙂
