This week we learned about gamification in the classroom. During my Link2Practice I was placed in a Grade 6/7 classroom and had seen a couple of coding games being used by the kids. I had never seen the games before and was interested to learn more, so I’m glad we dove into it in class! The one game I want to learn more about is Scratch, where you control events, sound, movement, variables and so on. A skill like this is so valuable in today’s age where many people are studying computer science or making a ton of money coding in their parent’s basement. In a digital age, scratch is an awesome resource! Below I’ve linked a little tutorial on how to get started, which I will always have to refer back to later. Love it!
